It was early Easter morning, and everything was going wrong for the Easter Bunny. When he was painting, his colors got mixed. They were purple and green. There was even a slice of cheese in his paint.
When he was done painting, it was time to deliver the eggs. But when he got to the first house, he dropped the eggs and they broke.
“Oh, no,” said the Easter Bunny.
The boy woke up and saw the Easter bunny. They became friends and went back to the Easter Bunny’s cottage to get more eggs. When they got there, they painted eggs and went to deliver them.
This time, they made it into the house without breaking the eggs.
But…
The Easter Bunny tripped and fell. He stubbed his toe on the door. The eggs flew up high, high, high. The eggs came crashing down all over the Easter Bunny and his new friend.
They stumbled back to the Easter Bunny’s cottage to take a bath. Right when the Easter Bunny got in the bathtub, he just remembered to get his rubber duckie.
“Oh, no,” he cried. “I have to find my duckie.”
He looked all over the place, but there was one more place that he had to check. And that was under his bed.
“Hooray!” said the Easter Bunny. “I found my rubber duckie.”
When he got out of the bath, he got his teddy bear named Bob and went to bed for the year.
“I hope next Easter isn’t such a bad day,” he said as he fell into a deep sleep.
