Playing with Wolf Pups

By: VS Grenier

Wolf pups have a lot in common with you. But they are very different too.

Young wolves grow up in a family. A wolf family is called a pack. Wolf pups have many brothers and sisters. Cousins, aunts, and uncles also live in the wolf pack.

Wow! That’s one big family.

Have you heard babies cry when they’re hungry? Baby wolves don’t cry. Instead they lick an adult wolf’s mouth to let them know it’s time to eat.

Yuck!

In your family, your mom and/or dad help take care of you. Sometimes other members of your family help out too. In a wolf pack, all the adult wolves help raise the baby wolf pups. It takes a lot of adults to keep these pups in line.

Did you know wolf pups love to play tag? Just like you, wolf pups like to chase each other around. Wolf pups run, play, and make friends just like you.

But they don’t get in trouble when they bite each other. This is how wolf pups show they like you.

Ouch!

Wolf pups may look different. But they like to have fun and play just like you.
